Ethical Committee for Research

Zuyd Hogeschool student bank bibliotheek sittard

The Ethical Committee for Research provides advice, both on request and on its own initiative, on ethical, legal, and procedural aspects of research. Researchers as well as other parties involved in the research may contact the Committee for advice at any time. In addition, the Committee sees it as its task to stimulate a special focus on scientific integrity and ethical awareness. Where necessary, the Committee will consult other experts.

Examples of advice include questions concerning permission to be involved in research, matters of privacy, as well as questions concerning the promotion of ethical awareness at the various schools and research centres at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. It may also be advisable to consult the Committee for advice if the research concerns sensitive or controversial subjects.

The Ethical Committee for Research is guided by the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (2018) and the Regulations governing the Ethical Committee for Research (2024) (in Dutch).
